May 2009-Face Paint Recall
The FDA has recently issued a recall for a line of face paints manufactured in China. This recall does NOT include any of the paints used by our company.
Debbie uses only cosmetic grade, water based paints, made specifically for use on hair and skin. They strictly comply with FDA and/or EU standards and regulations and the manufacturers maintain rigorous quality control practices. Debbie uses the following brands:
Kryolan Aquacolor
Snazaroo
Mehron-"Paradise" line and "Starblend" line
Ben Nye-"Lumiere" powders
Wolfe Brothers
In addition, Debbie uses cosmetic grade glitters that are extra fine and made from polyester; never metallic glitters, which can scratch the cornea if a child were to accidentally rub it into their eyes. Debbie purchases all face paints from a local company called Silly Farm, which specializes in selling face painting supplies and has been in business for close to 20 years.
All of the above brands can be removed easily with plain soap and water or even with a baby wipe.
